Skill Classes
2 On 2 Off Contacts
Trainer : Prue McLoynes
The A-Frame, Dog Walk and See Saw are known as contact obstacles. For safety, the dog is required to come in contact with the yellow painted area of the obstacles (the contact zone). At MyDAC, we teach a 2on2off behaviour over the course of 4 weeks. Suitable for beginners as well as retraining.
Weave Poles
Trainer : Karon Hallling
For dogs who haven’t learnt to weave yet. Weaving poles in agility are 12 white poles set up in a row 60cm apart. As the name suggested your dog needs to weave in and out of them. Our method of teaching them is simple and effective. Weaves are amazing to watch when the dog understands them. This 4 week course teaches a behaviour starting on 3 poles. Providing you are willing to do homework between classes, most dogs are weaving 12 poles by the 3rd or 4th week with good entries, exits and some independence.
Forward Drive - Message us to find out when this class will be scheduled
Trainer: Karon Hallling
Do you struggle getting your dog to drive ahead on a closing line? Or getting them to take an obstacle ahead of you out of a straight tunnel? Forward commitment on a verbal cue (independent of handler location) is a behaviour. Like any behaviour, it takes repetition and reward to achieve. Join us for a 4 week class where we help you teach your dog to drive forward on a verbal cue.
